THE MACHINE

A new hire at an office job begins to spiral into insanity after he is tasked with uncovering the purpose of a mysterious and otherworldly machine.

I named the main character in this film after a friend of mine from high school. He was the first person I sent the private vimeo link after completing it, and he replied with a facebook message that read:

"Wow that was pretty great. I’m not in much of a thinking mood rn but I figure it’s meant to be a commentary about modern monotonous, rat race work culture and corporate greed."

Maybe he's right.

The Machine was written, directed, and edited by Michael Price. It was produced by Elias ZX & Chase Newman. Kevin Yu was the Director of Photography. It stars Allamaprabhu Pattanashetty and Kevin Interdonato.

The film had its world premiere at the 25th Fantasia International Film Festival in Montreal, QC and subsequently screened at Dam Short Film Fest in Boulder City, NV and Flickers @ Starr Bar in Brooklyn, NY.

Challah on the Run

During Shabbos dinner in a remote shtetl, a loaf of challah magically comes to life just as a family is about to eat him!

As far as I know, this is the second narrative animated film ever produced in Yiddish (and the first one in color). It stars Allen Lewis Rickman (Boardwalk Empire, A Serious Man) and Yelena Shmulenson (Orange is the New Black, A Serious Man).

Animated in Blender, Backrounds in Photoshop, Composited in After Effects, and Edited in Premiere all by me. Music by the wonderful Niko Hasapopoulos and sound design by the amazing Austin Biss

The Execution of Archibald Perfidio

A short 2D cartoon I animated Blender. The backgrounds were hand-painted with gouache.

THE MAESTRO WRITES HIS CONCERTO

A lot of shorts made by film students are about the difficulty of the artistic process.

Yom2kippur: y2k

A friend of mine volunteers at a DIY movie theater in Brooklyn, which we sometimes take over after hours to do secret screenings. In 2019, for Yom Kippur, the Jewish day of Atonement, he enigmatically advertised as part of one of these screenings something called “Michael Price forgives you,” without anything planned for this program. Was it to be a performance piece? A religious ceremony? In the end, I made this short film to fill the slot.

Catch

Another film school project; This short was made in 2018 for a class where the assignment didn't allow for use of sound. A few years later, I added sound and composed an original score. The original silent version can be found on my Vimeo page.
